The restoration of Wisbech Corn Exchange cannot happen without the support of the public. Please read on to find out how you can help.
Firstly, thank you for visiting this page in the first place! It has been over 26 years since the Corn Exchange was in use, and we were amazed at how popular our Heritage Open Days were in September 2018.
Despite being situated behind Wisbech Old Town Hall, contrary to expectation the building is not owned by the local authority, nor is its upkeep funded by statutory agencies. Privately owned in trust, the Corn Exchange has not generated commercial income since its closure in the early 1990s. Whilst there are no intentions to sell or demolish and redevelop the building, it is certainly not self-sustainable as our architecture gallery shows all too well. The Trust’s restoration plans are therefore 100% reliant upon public support. Here are some ways you can help us:

Donate
We all know that there are thousands of national charities out there vying for our spare change. Why not make a difference locally by supporting a vulnerable historic building which was loved by many, and can become magnificent once more? However small your donation, it will go directly towards the restoration of the Corn Exchange. Whether your parents danced here, or you would like your children to be able to your kind gift means so much.

Raise awareness
We can only achieve great things if people know we need their help. Talk to your friends about your visit to the Corn Exchange, or about the pictures you have seen on this site. Ask relatives and neighbours if they remember the good old days of the Corn Exchange and get people talking. Discuss what a difference a new community space would make. Share links, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook ; share our tweets and posts. Let Wisbech know that the Corn Exchange is still here, and that with everyone’s help it can make the ultimate come-back.
