Born in Wisbech during the 1920s, Norman Jacobs M.B.E. became a legendary figure in East Anglia from the 1940s onwards.

This forthcoming biography by Norman’s son Norman Jnr. recounts how he rose from quite modest beginnings to create the largest independent chain of theatres and entertainment centres in East Anglia whilst saving several historic cinemas from destruction.

LUCKY FOR SOME records in details the history of entertainment in Wisbech and how Norman managed to bring jazz legends from Joe Loss to Ronnie Scott, pop icons Lulu and The Rolling Stones and popular entertainers such as Danny La Rue and Ken Dodd to the town.
