Share Your Memories

We would love to hear from you about happy times spent at the Corn Exchange.

Hundreds of people enjoyed dancing, listening to rock and roll and jazz, playing bingo and socialising at the Corn Exchange over the years. Perhaps you remember seeing Jerry Lee Lewis, or the Stones, or perhaps you worked for Norman Jacobs or his brother? Maybe you are trying to find an old bingo friend you have lost contact with. Please get in touch so we can preserve your memories for the future. You can comment below so other people can read your memories. Your email address won’t be shown. We would love to see your photos too, but can only receive these via post or email. You are very welcome to email us at info@wcxct.org. 1. My favourite person and I are in the process of moving to the Wisbech area from my home town of Cambridge, as Wisbech was where he grew up. I am so pleased that this beautiful old building is going to be restored to all it’s former glory, and I wish you all the luck in the world with the project ! From Kate.

  2. Too many memories to list as my father worked for Norman senior at the Peterborough cornexchange. NGJ used to pick me up and take me there on a saturday night when he was going over. Oldest memory is visiting NGJ bungalow on the beach at Hunstanton after the 53 floods to tidy up. As of the wisbech side i was asked to help strong man ( from peterborough) Walter Cornielius to break paving slabs with a sledge hammer ( on his chest) .
